We were to descend to 1800 meters and we certainly felt the increase in
the heat level.
Also, the pine forest became a thick jungle with a tinge of humidity.
As
we neared the
river the jungle gave way to tiered farmlands. The various terraces were
many variations
of color; from the golden stands of yet-to-be harvested wheat, to the
light green of the hot peppers to the dark green stalks of rice and corn
growing skyward. The cows were freely grazing in the harvested wheat
fields...
